Petroleum jelly, one of the things that have been on my “must have” beauty items for as long as I can remember. For me, it is a cult beauty classic. Though petroleum jelly isn't as glamorous as the other beauty products available in the market these days, it is however the most multi-purpose product which I firmly believe everyone should have in their beauty stash. Here are five of the reasons why . . .
ONE: It is a great lip balm! Using petroleum jelly will help soften moisture and smooth your lips. Applying it into your lips at night as lip balm and your lips are smooth and soft when you wake up. Tip: You may opt for the tinted or the flavored ones as they are more appealing than the original.
TWO: Spread on a really thin layer of petroleum jelly to your pulse points before spraying your favorite perfume can help it last longer. It is said that doing so helps prevent perfume’s evaporation. This, I have done several times already especially when I’m using an expensive one. *laughs*
THREE: It can tame unruly eyebrows! Applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly using a spoolie through your brows can help them kept in place. Not as good as eyebrow gel but it works pretty well.
FOUR: This, I haven't tried yet but it is said that applying petroleum jelly on your lashes before going to bed can help you get longer, thicker and fuller lashes. I have been hearing a lot of people doing this technique but it is said that you have to do this continuously for 2-3 weeks to see visible result.
FIVE: If you can't visit the salon to have those split ends snipped you can apply a teeny tiny amount of petroleum jelly to the tip of your hair can help hide those dread split ends. You can also use it to slick back stray hairs in a ponytail for a more smooth and polished look. But make sure that you only use a small amount to prevent hair looking greasy.
What about you? Do you have any tips for using the petroleum jelly as a beauty enhancer / beauty aid? Where and how do you prefer using your petroleum jelly?
