Though there are still no cure-all medicine that's been invented yet for hangovers, there are plenty of ways you can lessen the suffering that comes after a night of heavy drinking. Here are some few tips that will ease the suffering a bit:
Drink Lots of Water - Since alcohol is a diuretic and can cause dehydration it is highly recommended that before falling into bed you drink 16 to 20 ounces of water. Staying hydrated will alleviate your headache and dizziness that results from a hangover.
. . . or Coca-Cola -This is for real people. The infamous soda is made with coca leaves which has lots of anti oxidants and caffeine which works well to treat headaches.
Sleep It Off - Alcohol disrupts the sleep cycle so part of the reason why you are feeling so exhausted is because your body is sleep-deprived. Getting a few more hours of sleep will have you feeling better in no time.
Take A Pain Reliever - . . . but sparingly. They'll most likely alleviate your headache but pain relievers such as aspirin can upset an already irritated tummy so don't go over the recommended dose. Ty a half dose first to see if it works.
Drink Moderately - As they always say, "prevention is better than cure". The only way to avoid a pounding head and dizziness the morning after is to drink in moderation, or to stay away from alcohol entirely. You're already a grown-up now, you should know already what's good and bad. . . and when to stop. ** winks **

ReplyDeleteCoca cola was originally invented as a cure for hangover and was sold only in pharmacies...or so I'd read somewhere.

never knew coca-cola would help a hangover
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with drinking lots of water! I have two pints before going to sleep. (Of water that is) Or a cup of tea and toast which seems to help. Drinking a Barocca before sleeping is good too.
ReplyDeleteNot keen on drinking moderately though :p
